The Assessors Guild is the Professional Body for Assessors
We are here to ensure that assessment and assessors of all training reach the high assessor standards expected by learners and employers. This will guarantee that all those assessed are competent to do their jobs, providing standardisation in the UK.
For so long, the importance of the Assessor has gone unnoticed – We aim to change this through exposure to approved learning resources, implementation of assessor standards, networking events, to bring the community together and the maintenance of relationships with members and sector stakeholders. Join the family.
We will do this by
Measuring our members against stringent professional standards
Providing opportunities for ongoing professional development
Being a thought leader in assessment
The Assessors Guild can help you stay ahead of the game
This will help Training Providers, End Point Assessment Organisations and Awarding Bodies in their goal of excellence. It will provide the Institute for Apprenticeships with assurance that Assessors Guild Members undertaking End Point Assessments have been quality assured as Assessors, meaning they are all singing from the same hymn sheet. This provides much needed consistency within the industry of Assessment.
Our Assessors can benefit from a wide range of CPD, Learning Resources, Networking Opportunities and a clear identity that will allow them to stand out as registered Assessors in the industry. We want to lead by example and set the standard for the future of Assessment.
Sam Taylor heads up The Assessors Guild and comes from a teaching, assessing and quality background and understands the diverse assessment landscape after 28 years in education. She has a wealth of experience as a qualifications and assessment specialist having held high profile roles as Responsible Officer, Director of Vocational Learning as well as a Chief Examiner. Sam’s vision is for The Assessors Guild to represent the assessment sector through quality benchmarked CPD opportunities and professional standards as well as to provide a voice to a previously under-represented assessment community by providing a member portal with access to jobs, professional development, policy and news updates. The Assessors Guild aims to become an advocate for technical, vocational and end point assessors and quality assurers, offering a comprehensive support network for our members.
